You’re Not Alone
Dental Anxiety & Comfort Options
If the thought of a dental visit makes you uneasy, you’re in good company — and we’ve built our practice around making it easier.

Gentle by Design
We Take Dental Fear Seriously
Dental anxiety is genuinely common, and it’s often rooted in a real experience — a painful appointment decades ago when techniques and anaesthetics were far cruder than they are today, or feeling rushed, judged or not listened to. None of that is a character flaw, and we won’t treat it as one.
Many of our patients come to us after years away. The most common thing they tell us afterwards is that they wish they’d come sooner.
What We Do Differently
We move at your pace. We explain what we’re going to do before we do it, in plain language. We agree a stop signal — raise your hand and we stop, immediately, every time. We take extra care with numbing, including topical gel before any injection and giving the anaesthetic time to work properly before we begin.
Comfort Options
Beyond gentle technique, we can break longer treatment into shorter visits, schedule you at a quieter time of day, and discuss sedation options where appropriate for your health and the treatment planned. If you take medication for anxiety, tell us — it’s relevant, and it stays confidential.
Start Wherever You’re Comfortable
You’re welcome to book a visit where we simply talk — no instruments, no treatment, no commitment. Meeting the team and seeing the office is often enough to take the edge off before any care begins.

How We Help You Relax
- A stop signal you control, respected every time
- Everything explained before it happens
- Extra care and time taken with numbing
- Shorter visits or quieter appointment times
- A talk-only first visit if you’d prefer

It’s been years since I saw a dentist. Will you judge me?
Never. We see this constantly and it tells us nothing about you as a person. We’ll do a gentle exam, explain what we find without drama, and build a step-by-step plan at a pace you’re comfortable with.
What sedation options are available?
That depends on your medical history, medications and the treatment planned. We’ll discuss what’s appropriate and safe for you specifically at your consultation rather than promising something in advance.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. Many patients find it easier with a spouse, family member or friend along, and they’re welcome to stay with you.
