Which Denture Suits You

Complete (Full) Dentures

For an arch where no natural teeth remain. A conventional full denture is made after the gums have healed from any extractions, giving the most accurate fit. An immediate denture is made in advance and placed the same day teeth are removed, so you’re never without teeth — it needs relining later as the gums shrink.

Partial Dentures

For when you still have some healthy natural teeth. A partial fills the gaps and clasps discreetly to your remaining teeth. Beyond appearance and chewing, it stops your remaining teeth drifting into the spaces — which protects your bite long-term.

Implant-Supported Overdentures

If slipping is your main worry, a denture that snaps onto a few implants is transformative — no adhesive, far stronger chewing, and it helps preserve jawbone. Read more here.

Getting the Fit Right

Dentures are made over several appointments — impressions, bite registration, a try-in where you see and approve the look before anything is finalised, then fitting and adjustments. Expect a short adjustment period; sore spots are normal at first and easily eased with small adjustments. Please come back and let us fix them rather than putting up with discomfort.

Related Questions

How long until dentures feel normal?

Usually a few weeks. Speech and eating take practice — start with softer foods cut small and chew on both sides evenly. Most people adapt well, and small adjustments during that period make a real difference.

Do dentures need replacing?

Yes. Your gums and jawbone change shape over the years, so dentures typically need relining or remaking every five to eight years to stay comfortable and secure. An annual check keeps the fit right.

Should I take them out at night?

Generally yes, unless we’ve advised otherwise. It gives your gum tissue a rest and reduces the risk of fungal infection. Keep them in water or cleaning solution overnight so they don’t dry out and distort.
